Being clear and unclear about something

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well.

I've just seen this lesson on BBC Learning English website about Hillary Clint's pneumonia and I decided to share it here because the language is so interesting.

Here are a few words we can use to say that we are being clear about something:

  • to be an open book
ex.: My bother is an open book, he has no secrets with his family and they all know what goes on with him

  • to lay all your cards on the table
ex.: The couple has decided to lay all their cards on the table and come clean about their dissatisfactions.

  • to come clean about something
ex.: After so many lies, the accused thought best to come clean about his crime.
