"I used to" vs "I'm used to" - Learn English Grammar

Hello everyone, here is a nice explanation as to how we use these 2 expressions.

Let's watch the video and answer these follow up questions?

So, now that the teacher has clarified to you the meaning and use of "used to" and "I'm used to"tell me:

Did you use to wear orthopedic boots when you were a child? Did you like them? What did you use to to with them? Did you use them to "defend yourself"?

Did your grandmother use to give you candies or money to buy them? What are some nice memories of you grandparents' house?

How about nowadays? Are you already used to driving at 50km/h around the city of São Paulo?

And sorting out the recyclable trash from the organic one? Are you used to doing that?

Thank you for participating!

Being clear and unclear about something

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well.

I've just seen this lesson on BBC Learning English website about Hillary Clint's pneumonia and I decided to share it here because the language is so interesting.

Here are a few words we can use to say that we are being clear about something:

  • to be an open book
ex.: My bother is an open book, he has no secrets with his family and they all know what goes on with him

  • to lay all your cards on the table
ex.: The couple has decided to lay all their cards on the table and come clean about their dissatisfactions.

  • to come clean about something
ex.: After so many lies, the accused thought best to come clean about his crime.

This is the BBC Leaning English Lesson, let's take a look at it to complete its activities:
